A capacitive touch pad on a small red board, built around the TTP223 chip. Touch the printed pad and the output goes high; lift off and it goes low - no moving parts to wear out and nothing to press. It runs on anything from 2 to 5.5V, drops into a low-power state after about twelve seconds with no touch, and senses through a thin non-metal cover, so you can hide it behind acrylic or a plastic panel and end up with a sealed, wipe-clean control surface.
Key features

- 2 - 5.5V supply
- Momentary output - high while touched
- Senses through thin plastic or glass
