A microcontroller and a long-range LoRa radio on one 3.3V board. An ATmega32U4 running at 8 MHz with native USB is wired over SPI to an RFM95W (Semtech SX1276) transceiver putting out up to +20 dBm - good for a couple of kilometres line of sight on a simple wire antenna, far more with a directional one. A 2-pin JST connector takes a lithium cell, and there is a u.FL socket for an external antenna, so it makes a genuinely off-grid telemetry node. Sold in regional 868 MHz and 915 MHz versions.
Key features
- ATmega32U4 at 8 MHz with native USB, programmed from the Arduino IDE
- RFM95W (SX1276) LoRa radio on SPI, up to +20 dBm
- 868 MHz or 915 MHz depending on region - pick to match local rules
- ~2 km line of sight on a simple wire antenna
- u.FL antenna socket and a 2-pin JST lithium battery connector
- ~100 mA peak on transmit, ~30 mA receiving
- 3.3V logic - not 5V tolerant
