A 315 MHz superheterodyne receiver for on-off-keyed remote control signals. Superhet is the step up from the super-regenerative receivers in budget transmitter/receiver pairs: a crystal sets the frequency instead of a hand-tuned coil, so it drifts far less with temperature, rejects nearby interference much better and gives a longer, far more repeatable range from the same transmitter. Pair it with a 315 MHz transmitter or an existing keyfob remote.
