A teaching module rather than a sensor for real work: a glass tilt switch and an LED on one small board, with four pins - ground, power, S for the switch and L for the LED. Run two of them, read each S and PWM each L, and the light appears to pour from one 'cup' into the other as you tip them. It works from 3.3-5.5V and is the neatest way to teach tilt sensing and PWM brightness in a single exercise.
