The MS200 is a compact 360-degree single-line lidar - it spins a time-of-flight rangefinder to produce a full sweep of distances around a robot, which is the raw material for SLAM mapping and obstacle avoidance. Rotation speed is set in software from 5 to 15 Hz, 10 Hz by default, and it streams over a 230,400 baud serial link that appears as a USB serial port on Linux. The vendor's ROS 1 and ROS 2 drivers publish it straight to a standard LaserScan topic.
