A genuine carbon-dioxide sensor rather than a general air-quality guess. The MG811 is an electrochemical cell whose output EMF falls as CO2 rises, covering roughly 350 to 10000 ppm, and it is far less bothered by humidity than a tin-oxide sensor. The module adds the amplifier the raw cell needs, giving a 0-2V analog output, a digital alarm output and a temperature-compensation pin. It wants a 6V supply for its 850 mW heater, and a long warm-up.
Key features
- True CO2 measurement, roughly 350-10000 ppm
- Electrochemical cell - little cross-sensitivity to humidity
- Analog 0-2V out (0-4V selectable) plus a digital alarm output
- Temperature-compensation pin (Tcm) brought out
- Needs a 6V supply for the heater, not 5V
- Long warm-up and calibration needed for accurate ppm
