The KY-037 pairs a large, sensitive electret microphone with an LM393 comparator, so you get two things at once: a raw analog sound level on AO, and a clean digital pulse on DO whenever the sound crosses a threshold you set with the on-board trimmer. Worth knowing before you write the code - the analog output is inverted, so louder sound gives a lower voltage. It runs on 3.3-5.5V, draws about half a milliamp, and has power and trigger LEDs so you can see it working.
