A precision instrumentation amplifier: it amplifies the difference between two inputs while rejecting the noise both share. Gain is set by a single external resistor, G = 1 + 49.4 kOhm / RG, anywhere from 1 to 1000, on supplies from plus/minus 2.3 V to plus/minus 18 V and only 1.3 mA of current. With 9 nV per root Hz of input noise it is the standard front end for load cells, strain gauges, thermocouples and ECG circuits.
Key features
- Gain 1 to 1000 set by one external resistor
- G = 1 + 49.4 kOhm / RG
- 93 dB minimum CMRR at G = 10 (A grade)
- 9 nV per root Hz input noise at 1 kHz
- 1.3 mA max supply current, +/-2.3 V to +/-18 V
- 8-pin DIP - load cells, thermocouples, ECG
