Far more than a plain breakout: the Nano drops into the two 15-way sockets in the middle and every usable pin comes out as a 3-pin signal / power / ground group, so servos and sensor modules plug straight in. On top of that the shield carries a 2 mm XBee socket, an nRF24L01 socket, a combined I2C and serial header, and a DC barrel jack with its own regulator - enough to build a wireless sensor node without a single jumper wire.
