A small screwdriver-set preset resistor for calibrating a circuit and then leaving it alone - setting a comparator threshold, trimming a bias point, adjusting the contrast on an LCD. It is a single-turn design with a slotted screw on top and three through-hole pins, available in 1 kohm and 10 kohm. Nothing sticks out of the panel, which is the point: it is meant to be adjusted once on the bench, not by the user.
