The bare Vishay TCRT5000 - an infrared LED and a phototransistor moulded side by side in one 10 x 6 x 7 mm block, behind a daylight-blocking filter. Hold it a couple of millimetres above a surface and the phototransistor conducts hard over white and barely at all over black, which is why it sits under nearly every line-following robot. It is a component, not a module: you add the LED series resistor and a pull-up yourself.
