The smallest boost module worth buying - an MT3608 on the HW-045 board, about 36 x 17 mm, with a multiturn trimmer and four solder pads. It takes 2-24V in and can be set anywhere up to 28V out, switching at 1.2MHz with efficiency up to 93%. Note what the 2A rating means: it is the chip's internal switch limit measured on the input side, so useful output current falls as you boost harder - roughly 1A when lifting a 3.7V cell to 5V, but only a couple of hundred mA taking 5V up to 24V.
