A 650 nm red laser diode in a brass barrel on a three-pin carrier - drive the S pin high and you get a fine, bright dot. Rated 5 mW at 5V and drawing around 30 mA, it is the transmitter half of a beam-break trip-wire when aimed at a laser receiver module or an LDR, and it works just as well for alignment and pointing jobs. Treat it as a real laser: never look into the beam and never aim it at anyone.
