Six inverters - the simplest gate there is, turning a high into a low - in a 14-pin DIP running on 3V to 15V. What makes the 4069UB different from most logic is that it is unbuffered: each inverter is a single CMOS stage with modest gain, which is exactly what you want when you bias one into its linear region. That is why it is the standby for crystal and RC oscillators, square-wave generators and simple analogue amplifier tricks, as well as ordinary logic inversion.
Key features
- Six independent inverters (NOT gates)
- Unbuffered - can be biased as a linear amplifier
- The usual choice for crystal and RC oscillators
- Supply 3V to 15V, 18V absolute maximum
- About 30 ns propagation delay at 10V
- 14-pin DIP, CMOS low standby current
