A 6V gearmotor in the flat, round 50 mm housing - the motor sits underneath and the reduction gearing lives in the disc on top, with two mounting ears and a D-cut output shaft. The gearing turns a fast, weak spin into a slow, steady one with real pull behind it, which is what turntables, display props, feeders and small moving models want. Runs from a 6V supply or a four-cell AA pack and reverses on the leads.
