An incremental rotary encoder on a breakout: a knob that turns forever in either direction, clicking through 20 detents per revolution and putting out quadrature pulses on CLK and DT so your code can tell which way it went. Because it counts steps rather than reporting a position, one knob can scroll a menu, adjust a value or act as a jog wheel without ever hitting an end stop - and pressing it in closes a momentary switch on SW. The flatted shaft takes a standard knob cap.
