A full Linux computer the size of a credit card. The Pi 3's quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A53 at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM run a proper desktop, a web server or ROS, while the 40-pin GPIO header lets it talk to the same sensors and motor drivers an Arduino would. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, along with four USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, full-size HDMI and camera and display connectors. Give it a 5V 2.5A micro-USB supply - undersized phone chargers are the usual cause of mystery crashes.
