A u-blox NEO-6M GPS receiver on the familiar GY-GPS6M carrier, supplied with a 25 mm ceramic patch antenna on a u.FL lead. It tracks 50 channels on GPS L1, fixes to about 2.5 m horizontally, and streams NMEA sentences out of its TX pin at 9600 baud - four wires to an Arduino. A rechargeable backup cell and an EEPROM keep the almanac and settings, so a warm restart finds satellites in a second or so rather than half a minute.
Key features
- u-blox NEO-6M, 50 channels, GPS L1 with SBAS
- 2.5 m horizontal accuracy, 1 Hz default (5 Hz maximum)
- 9600 baud NMEA over UART - VCC, GND, TX, RX
- On-board 3.3V regulator and 5V-tolerant pins
- Backup cell and EEPROM: ~1 s hot start, ~27 s cold
- 25 x 25 mm ceramic patch antenna included
