A small round piezo transducer on flying leads - the flat disc type rather than a domed self-oscillating buzzer. There is no oscillator inside, so plain DC does nothing: you feed it an AC or square-wave tone and it sounds at whatever frequency you send. That is the point of it - one line of code sets the pitch, so beeps, rising alarms and simple melodies all come from a microcontroller pin or a 555. Rated 12 V.
