A mains-powered synchronous gear motor of the TYC-50 pattern - the flat 50 mm can with two mounting ears that turns barbecue spits, shop displays, disco balls and rotating props. It runs straight off 220-240V at 50/60 Hz on about 4 W, and because it is synchronous the speed is locked to mains frequency rather than to load or supply voltage, so it holds a steady crawl. Output is a Ø7 mm D-shaft, and stalling it does no damage.
