Same heated tin-dioxide construction as the MQ-2, but doped for LPG - so it responds strongly to propane, butane and isobutane and much less to smoke and cooking fumes. That selectivity is the reason to choose it: a bottled-gas alarm built on an MQ-6 is far less likely to be set off by a burnt pan than one built on an MQ-2. Detection span is 300 to 10,000 ppm of propane, with an analog A0 for concentration and a trim-pot digital D0 for the alarm trip.
