A fixed-frequency PWM controller and the beating heart of an enormous number of switch-mode supplies, ATX PSUs, car inverters and adjustable bench converters. It packs two error amplifiers, an on-chip 5V reference, a dead-time comparator and two 200 mA output transistors that can be wired push-pull or single-ended. You set the switching frequency with one resistor and one capacitor. It runs on 7V to 40V, so it can bootstrap straight off the rail it is regulating.
Key features
- Fixed-frequency PWM control, up to about 300 kHz
- Two 200 mA output transistors, push-pull or single-ended
- Two error amplifiers for voltage and current control
- On-chip 5V reference, 5% accurate
- Dead-time control pin sets minimum off time
- Supply 7V to 40V, 16-pin DIP
