A TCRT5000 reflective sensor on a four-pin breakout that gives you both kinds of reading: A0 is a continuously varying voltage that tracks how much infrared light bounces back, and D0 is a clean on/off signal whose switching point you set on the onboard trim pot. The analog channel is the reason to pick this one - a robot can tell how far off-centre it is over a line rather than just black or white, so it steers in smooth corrections instead of zig-zagging.
Key features
- Vishay TCRT5000, 950 nm IR emitter and phototransistor
- Analog A0 and digital D0 on one board
- Working distance 0.2 - 15 mm, best at 2.5 mm
- Trim pot sets the digital threshold
- 3.3 - 5V supply, 4-pin header
- For proportional line following and edge detection
