A DS18B20 sealed inside a stainless steel probe on a PVC lead, so it can go straight into water, soil, a fermenter or an outdoor housing. The conversion happens on the chip, so there is no analog wiring and nothing to calibrate, and it reports over 1-Wire with a unique 64-bit serial number per sensor - which is how a dozen probes can share a single data pin. Accurate to plus or minus 0.5 degrees C across the -10 to +85 C band.
