A 40V, 3 A Schottky rectifier in an axial DO-201AD body. The point of a Schottky is the forward drop: 525 mV maximum at the full 3 A, against 0.7-1.1V for an ordinary silicon rectifier like the 1N4007, and it stops conducting almost instantly instead of storing charge. That makes it the right diode for buck and boost converters, freewheel duty across an inductor, solar panel blocking and reverse-polarity protection - anywhere the loss in the diode is a real fraction of the power.
