The classic LED numeric display - seven bar segments plus a decimal point per digit, bright enough to read across a room and easy to drive from a microcontroller through current-limiting resistors, or from a decoder chip such as the CD4511. Stocked as 1, 2, 3 and 4 digit modules; the single-digit part has ten pins, five a side. Multi-digit versions share their segment pins and are multiplexed one digit at a time.
