Five infrared line sensors spread across one bar, so a robot knows not just that it is on the line but which way it is drifting - the difference between a jerky line follower and a smooth, fast one. The BFD-1000 also carries an adjustable IR obstacle sensor and a mechanical collision switch on the same board, and every output has its own LED so you can see what it is seeing. Runs from 3.0-5.5V and gives plain digital HIGH/LOW signals to any microcontroller.
Key features
- 5 infrared line channels, digital HIGH/LOW output
- Plus an IR obstacle sensor and a collision switch
- Line detection from 0 to 4 cm above the surface
- 3.0-5.5V, so it suits 5V and 3.3V boards
- Status LED on every sensor output for debugging
- Reads black-on-white and white-on-black lines
