A male DC barrel plug you solder onto your own cable, with a ribbed boot that takes the strain where the cable leaves the shell. The barrel is the common 5.5 mm outside diameter - the size that mates with the DC jacks on Arduino boards, routers and most 12V adaptors. Watch the inner pin, though: 5.5 mm plugs come with both 2.1 mm and 2.5 mm bores and they look identical from the outside, so check the socket you are matching before you solder.
