A Mabuchi-type RF-300 spindle motor - the flat 24 mm can that used to sit under CD and DVD trays. The label rates it at 5.0V, where it turns about 6,500 rpm, and it will run anywhere from 1.5V to 6V: roughly 1,850 rpm on a single cell, 3,800 rpm at 3V, 7,600 rpm at 6V. The can is only 12.45 mm thick with a 2 mm shaft, and it is genuinely quiet, which makes it a good pick for small fans, disc spinners and solar experiments.
