The bare MQ-135 element - the tin-dioxide sensor in its steel mesh can with six legs, no PCB and no comparator. Its resistance falls in the presence of ammonia, NOx, benzene, alcohol, smoke and CO2, quoted at 10-300 ppm for ammonia and 10-1000 ppm for benzene. You supply the 5V heater (around 150 mA, so it runs warm), a load resistor and an ADC. Buy it to build your own air-quality board or to re-tube one that has aged out.
Key features
- Bare 6-pin sensor element, no breakout board
- Senses NH3, NOx, benzene, alcohol, smoke and CO2
- Ammonia 10-300 ppm, benzene 10-1000 ppm
- 5V heater at about 150 mA - it runs warm
- Needs a load resistor and an ADC
- Allow 24 h burn-in before readings settle
