A broad-spectrum air-quality sensor on the usual blue 4-pin carrier. The MQ-135's tin-oxide element drops in resistance in the presence of ammonia, NOx, alcohol, benzene, smoke and CO2, so treat it as an 'is the air worse than it was' sensor rather than a meter for any one gas. A0 gives the raw level, D0 trips at the threshold you dial in. The 5V heater runs warm; leave it powered a day before trusting comparisons.
Key features
- Responds to NH3, NOx, alcohol, benzene, smoke and CO2
- Ammonia 10-300 ppm, benzene 10-1000 ppm, alcohol 10-300 ppm
- Analog A0 plus threshold digital D0 with trim pot
- 5V heater, under 800 mW - the sensor runs warm
- Best for relative trends, not calibrated ppm
- Long burn-in (24 h) before readings settle
