A big N-channel power MOSFET in a TO-247 tab package: 100V, 42 A and only 36 milliohms on-resistance, so it wastes very little as heat when hard on. It is a favourite in audio power amplifiers, switching supplies, induction heaters, inverters and heavy motor drives - anywhere a small TO-220 device would run out of current or die. Bolt it to a real heatsink; the 160 W rating assumes one.
