The ESP32-CAM has no USB port, so flashing it normally means an FTDI adapter and a jumper from GPIO0 to ground. This base board removes all of that: drop the camera board into the two 8-way sockets, plug in a USB-C cable, and the on-board USB-serial bridge and auto-reset circuit put it into download mode for you. RST and IO0 buttons are there for the times you want to do it by hand, and USB also powers the ESP32-CAM at 5V.
