The workhorse rectifier diode: 1 A average forward current, 1000 V reverse blocking, in the usual DO-41 glass-hard plastic body with the silver band marking the cathode. It is what you reach for to turn transformer AC into DC, to block a supply from being connected backwards, or to sit across a relay or motor coil and swallow the switch-off spike. Standard recovery, so it is deliberately slow - for a switching supply use the FR157 instead.
