A 12V normally-closed solenoid valve with a plastic body and 1/2 inch threaded ports - power the coil and it opens, cut power and a spring shuts it again. It is a pilot-operated (diaphragm) valve, so it needs a little line pressure to work: roughly 0.02 MPa minimum, up to 0.8 MPa, and it only flows one way. The backbone of automatic plant watering, drink dispensers and any build that has to turn mains-pressure water on and off by itself.
